Wikiopole: a French tool to map the social web and graph

by Laurent François

wikiopole

Wikiopole is a new interesting tool to map and visualize the French social web. I discovered it on modérateur’s blog :

“Dernière nouveauté en date, Wikiopole. A mi-chemin entre Happy flu (l’expérience du CNRS sur la blogosphère) et la cartographie de la blogarchie française, ce service propose d’explorer la blogosphère francophone et le classement Wikio de manière originale.”

It’s pretty interesting because it allows you to travel from link to link, to see the diverse universes in which a blog can interact. You can also see the various relationships that bloggers have together.
Linkfluence made it: great job, and I cannot wait to see the next steps!

What’s missing to my opinion:

  • history: it’d be interesting to see the evolution of relationships
  • other universes: not all social media/blogs are included in this map; there’s no visualization of international backlinks, and some blog networks are not considered (Skyrock for example is very important in France…)
